Noreen Stewart, PhD

 
 

Dr. Noreen Stewart is a senior school psychologist, professor, and social justice advocate. She specializes in working with a diverse range of students with learning, emotional, and attentional needs. She is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Applied Psychology, Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development at New York University. At NYU, she teaches advanced courses to graduate students in the School Counseling and Counseling for Mental Health & Wellbeing programs.

As the Founder and CEO of Stewart Learning Inc. she equips mentors, educators, parents and students with the skills needed to prepare for life during and after high school. Dr. Stewart has a passion for working at the intersection of improving emotional health, nurturing diverse learners, and addressing racial inequity in education. Over the past 10+ years she has focused on student mental health and educational success outcomes through direct therapeutic interventions, organizational consultation, and programmatic development.

Dr. Stewart’s custom approach, rooted in optimizing executive function skills, also addresses a range of student needs including ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety, depression, OCD, working memory deficits, processing speed issues and learning disabilities. Utilization of a social justice lens is enabling her to help organizations to empower young people to unlock their potential, overcome their unique challenges, and grow into confident, independent learners and adults. Dr. Stewart earned her PhD in School Psychology, Advanced Certificate in School Psychology, and MSEd in Therapeutic Interventions from Fordham University. She completed her BS in Human Development & Psychological Services at Northwestern University.
